Let’s look at the benefits of this Intra-Company Transferee Work Permit:
You can get it faster than the LMIA which can take at least a few months to process.
No longer do you have to wait for Service Canada to assess an LMIA. If you’re a transferee, you can apply for the Work Permit at any Canadian airport. If you choose to apply at the airport, it will be assumed that you are from a visa-exempt country.
You can expect approximately 30 minutes- 2 hours of wait time from the time you apply to getting approved, depending on how busy the Canada Border Services Agency is.
Canada gives priority to Canadians and Permanent Residents for available job opportunities. As such, LMIA for local hires and will first be assessed as to whether or not there already are those with the same qualifications to do the same job through advertising. There is at lease a one-month time period where other potential candidates need to be recruited.
With the Intra-Company Work Permit, transferees are exempt from having to be part of this advertising process.
The company can be exempt from submitting their tax documents from Canada Revenue Agency and the 10+ pages of an LMIA application form.

Once you get the LMIA, you can immediately get 50 or 200 (depending on profession) additional points for Express Entry, which is needed for applying for the Permeant Residence application.
On the other hand, you can get the same addition in points by working after one year when you hold an Intra-company Transferee Work Permit.
