The key is that the Principal applicant who has a Working Holiday or Post Graduate Work Permit is currently employed in a skilled occupation in Canada and can prove it.<\/p>\n<p>The Principal applicant who has an Open Work Permit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has to <u>be working in Canada<\/u><\/li>\n<li>can prove she\/he is working <u>in a skilled occupation<\/u><\/li>\n<li>have <u>at least 6 months<\/u> left on his\/her Work Permit<\/li>\n<li><u>prove marriage or common-law relationship<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to an application for an Open Work Permit for a spouse, your spouse will also need to include copies of the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of relationship (marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship)<\/li>\n<li>Principal applicant\u2019s IEC (e.g. working holiday) or Post Graduate Work Permit<\/li>\n<li>Letter from the principal applicant\u2019s current employer confirming employment or an employment offer or contract; and<\/li>\n<li>Principal applicant\u2019s last 3 pay slips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The spouse can apply for an Open Work Permit at the port of entry (e.g. Canadian airport) or to the in-Canada visa office in Vegreville Alberta if she\/he is in Canada.<\/p>\n<h4>Resources on IRCC websites<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/corporate\/publications-manuals\/operational-bulletins-manuals\/temporary-residents\/foreign-workers\/exemption-codes\/public-policy-competitiveness-economy.html\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/corporate\/publications-manuals\/operational-bulletins-manuals\/temporary-residents\/foreign-workers\/exemption-codes\/public-policy-competitiveness-economy.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes.
