{"id":1773,"date":"2019-05-31T20:18:05","date_gmt":"2019-05-31T20:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yupasscanada.com\/?p=1773"},"modified":"2020-06-06T02:37:59","modified_gmt":"2020-06-06T02:37:59","slug":"newreleasemay312019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yupasscanada.com\/en\/government-updates\/newreleasemay312019\/","title":{"rendered":"\u3010Canada introduces new measures for vulnerable individuals\u3011"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>News Release from IRCC on May 31, 2019 <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Canada is taking action to help protect vulnerable people. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>June 4, 2019 &#8211; Migrant workers who have an employer-specific Work Permit and are in an abusive job situation in Canada will be able to apply for an Open Work Permit which allow them to work for any employer. &nbsp;<br> <br>This will allow migrant workers to leave that employer immediately, maintain their status and find another job.<\/li><li> July 26, 2019 &#8211; newcomers experiencing family violence will be able to apply for a fee exempt Temporary Resident Permit that will give them legal immigration status in Canada and includes a Work Permit and health care coverage.  <\/li><li>September 9, 2019 &#8211; IRCC will launch a 2-year pilot project where a person who came to Canada can now sponsor undeclared immediate family members. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">More information can be found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/news\/2019\/05\/canada-introduces-new-measures-for-vulnerable-individuals.html\" target=\"_blank\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News Release from IRCC on May 31, 2019 Canada is taking action to help protect vulnerable people.
